Along the reclaimed edge of Victoria Harbour in Central, three rounded shrubs sit almost ceremonially on engineered ground. Bamboo poles stacked in front signal ongoing construction. My attention shifted away from the distant skyline toward this controlled fragment of landscape. I lingered on the precise circles of the shrubs against the linear weight of bamboo, noticing how even the city’s margins are carefully composed.
