In Shek Kong, Ah Lee’s tailor shop presses against a village building, antennas rising tightly above it. I composed the frame in layers, stacking shopfront, dwelling, and rooftop structures to hold Hong Kong’s density at a modest scale. A pale metal fence echoes the antennas’ tone, their vertical lines pulling upward against the storefront’s horizontal steadiness. The scene fills with traces rather than people: a headless mannequin in shadow, a kitten at ground level, laundry overhead.
